About Us
Dr. Andrew Carr
Has been an instructor and professional dancer for over 30 years. He has taught master classes centered around Classical Ballet Technique, Pointe, and Contemporary Dance, as well as Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Injury Prevention to students, professional dancers, and instructors worldwide. During his professional dance career, Dr. Carr performed with the Kansas City Ballet (formerly State Ballet of Missouri), Sacramento Ballet, and the Washington Ballet. Some of his favorite roles included Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Phlegmatic and Sanguinic in Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, and the principal dancer in Lila York’s Gloria. As an artist, Dr. Carr has worked for the Balanchine Foundation and Tudor Foundation.
In addition to his performance career, Dr. Carr has extensive experience as an instructor, coach, choreographer, and director. He works as a consulting Cartistic Director and program designer for professional companies and schools across the US. In 2002, Dr. Carr received accolades for teaching and was honored as a Guest Master Instructor for the Texas Association of Teachers of Dance.
